Newly Qualified Teachers

Thank you for your interest in the service we provide for Education graduates. Many Newly Qualified Teachers will be finding great first jobs by looking through advertisements and going through the application and interview process. Many others will be going through this process but finding it unsatisfactory for many reasons: they can’t find a post that suits their expectations, they can’t get a clear picture of what a school will be like, or they simply don’t have the time or energy to spare from their studies to fill in lengthy application forms.

At Long term Teachers we work with schools throughout the UK, giving us access to hundreds of jobs that cover all ages, subjects and geographical areas. As teachers ourselves we know many of these schools from personal experience and can give teachers an insight into the ‘feel’ of a school, with information that goes beyond class sizes and dress codes. We concentrate on long term positions so that we can devote all of our time and resources to matching teachers to long term vacancies in schools. We begin working for you immediately after registration. We will not take up your valuable time contacting you with unsuitable positions but will focus our full attention on searching for the right, long term position for you.

Don’t sign a contract with the first school you visit

We are currently interviewing a number of teachers who have nearly finished their first year in the classroom. Some have been disappointed with a rushed decision made on graduation. They have come to us to find them a post in a school where they will be happier. NQTs don’t need to make uninformed choices. We can give you the chance to learn more about a school before you make a commitment. We can organise a term by term supply post so that you can thoroughly investigate the school and the class before making a permanent commitment - while still having all the challenges and rewards of a full time teaching job and going through induction. 

You set the agenda, we meet your priorities

We can also help teachers find permanent appointments upon graduation, taking out the form filling and legwork and doing the background checks and homework for you. Instead of calling dozens of schools, writing out endless applications, and attending interviews for jobs that could turn out to be inappropriate, our teachers fill in one application pack for us and then wait for us to call them with interview arrangements. We listen to you and sift through our hundreds of schools to find the right post for each person. We won’t waste your time with a job that doesn’t suit. We’ve all been in that position and we know what it’s like to feel pressurised to take something we don’t want.

Newly qualified teachers don’t need to spend precious time job hunting. You don’t need to commit yourself to a job you’re not sure of. You can start work on the first day of term for a higher daily rate than some of your contracted colleagues.
