Living and teaching in the UKWorking in the UK may be just as you think it will be - or it may be very different. The best way to have realistic expectations is to do your research before you come. Know what you are hoping for and what you're planning to do but keep your options open too. The more you see and learn here, the more you will want to do, to see, to learn: it's not unknown for a six week holiday to become a year's leave or for a year's leave to turn into no going back! When we talk about finding work for you in the UK, we generally mean England. There is not the same demand for teachers in Scotland and in order to teach in Wales you should have a some Welsh language skills. So the teaching opportunities tend to be in England. In order to teach, you have to have a few other things sorted - the curriculum yes, but also accommodation, transport, the details of living. We've tried to cover all of that information for you, or at least give a taster of it, and have split that into two parts: London and the Rest of the country. Information such as finances, that's relevant across the country, is not split up. If there's anything you can't find here, please do contact us with specific queries or suggestions of things you'd like added to the site.
